Got a few questions: > > can one get by buying this lens without the external finder? You will not regret it! As for the finder, some people advise not buying it and just using the entire viewfinder of the M6 to compose. Since I wear glasses, that is not an option for me. On a recent trip to Denmark I forgot to take the finder with me, and tried taking pictures without it, but it was much slower than with the finder, since I wanted to scan the edges of the frame to make sure nothing unwanted was there. I rarely use the 24mm for fast-paced street photography; and since I am trying to improve my composition, it is important to me to have an accurate view of what gets recorded on film. So for me, the answer to your question is no. > how is this lens wide open (in terms of color, contrast and sharpness)? Incredible in every way. Sharp, corner-to-corner. I never knew a wide-angle lens could be this good. > when putting this lens on, which framelines pop out on an M6? It brings up the 35mm and 135mm framelines. Enjoy!
