to get the best IR effect : 
Use a 35 mm lens or shorter, use hyperfocal and a BLACK filter (= no visible
light at all!)
Everything you will get will be IR light.
For exposure, use something like 25 asa but bracket because all exposure
meter are calibrated to
subtract IR light!
