One of the photographers arrested that night is a Pulitzer prize winning photojournalist and the majority of photographers arrested that night worked for Retina, a world famous organization of photojournalists. Trying to seperate freelance photographers who cover current events is not quite so simple and is, IMO, an easy dodge. There are ome photographer who are papparrazzo only, but the vast majority are photo-journalists working on assignment. Neither group is excused by their editors if they fail to show up, on deadline, with the photos the editors *require* they come home with.
