Of course Contax agreed with this and came out with the AX, which by the way
is a great camera - big and thick - but it works quite well.  As you know, the
AX moves a body withing the body to change the distance between the film plane
and the lens.  The AF system is not quite as fast as a Canon 1N or Nikon F5,
