Occasionally, one will come through with too much powder on the cleaning pad. As a result, the powder remains on the lens surface. In response to my complaint about this situation, the manufacturer recommended that the cleaning pad be tapped on a lint free cloth or tissue about ten times to remove the excess cleaning powder before use.
