Back in November, the French >magazine Chasseur d'Images produced a test of commonly available slide >projectors (Kindermann, Kodak, Leica, Rollei). They had tested these >projectors in their standard shipping version (that is: with included >lenses). The following Leica projectors were tested: P150, P300, P600IR >and P2002. > I didn't see that first message, but did recently get to see a slide show given by Judy Holmes on a pair of Hasselblad PCP80s, and a few of my own slides, projected from Pradovit 2002 w/90 Colorplans, I believe. Though the 35mm was not projected on nearly the auditorium-filling scale that the 6x6 images were, I was delighted by how easy on the eyes both systems were! Though mine were a mix of cardboard and glass-mounted slides, I was not really bothered by uneven focus as I normally am (true, I was also sitting further back than I normally would, but the projected image was still of a decent size). Believe the Colorplan was a FF lens, yet it seemed to work well with cardboard-mounted slides too?? The image seemed really bright too, and I liked it a lot. Question: For fairly light-duty home use (small to middling rooms), what's a good combo of lens + projector that'll make even fussy viewers smile? We're talking 2-4 meters from projector to screen, typically. Have previously used a Carousel 850 w/Kodak CF zoom lens w/mostly cardboard mounted slides. Would like some combo which substantially outperforms it (more brilliance, more consistent sharpness throughout the image, more "wow!"). Smallish projected images, I can live with. Around 40% of my slides are in Gepe antinewton glass mounts.
