And it is some of the few things I own that matches the quality of the M. It is slightly larger than the bottom plate, is about 2/3 length of the body and includes a center tripod hole. And it slides onto the quick release clamp on my Foba mini ball mounted on the Gitzo mountaineer carbon fiber. A perfect, solid, lightweight travel set. The bottom plate of the Leica fits into the channel on the RRS plate. The fit and finish is excellent. If I had a complaint, it is that the plate could probably be slightly less hefty and still be plenty strong for holding such a light body and lens. Donal Philby temporarily in Phoenix
