I've seen several different meters marketed by Leitz and others for use in the accessory shoe. The Leica meter III is an example of a good, small unit. None of the ones I'm aware of couple to the shutter speed dial. Since the shutter speed dial of TM Leicas rotates when the shutter is tripped, it you would be a rather complicated mechanism. kw >On my window shopping trip the other day, I noticed a selection of what >looked like Leica light meters next to the universal finders in one shop. >The appeared to fit on the accessory shoe and link to the top shutter >speed dial. > >Like an idiot I forgot to ask about them, but are there ones which fit on >the screw thread models (I know about the ones for the M series which >work this way)? > >I realise that this would preclude the use of a finder on a IIIx (they >didn't *seem* to have their own shoe), but it could be rather convenient. >Or is there a version which couples this way and which *does* offer a >shoe? > >dmorton@cix.compulink.co.uk | >david@cassandra.compulink.co.uk | "The loss of an old man >(+44) 181 450 5459 | is like the destruction >Flat 3, 11 Kingscroft Road, | of a library" >Kilburn, London NW2 3QE | ---- Ken Wilcox Carolyn's Personal Touch Portraits LHSA, MEA, LAW preferred---> <wilcox@umcc.umich.edu> <kwilcox@genesee.freenet.org>
