I picked it up for about $10.00 in Atlanta back in 1991. Though it doesn't provide a tripod socket, it has proved handy. I've been using the one from Tamarkin for a couple of months now along with a soft touch release from Fred Ward and find an almost immeasurable improvement in slow speed hand-holdability - for me 1/30 second (but before I wouldn't go below 1/60 or 1/125). I thiink it well worth the price. It is meticulously crafted and quite in keeping with the Leica quality. I bought mine from Jim Lager at the NYC store who first gave me a thorough consult on the product. They come in chrome, black and red.
