It was a while back when we had some rain so the foliage is lush. First is an example that photo's do lie: this woman was having an engagement announcement picture series with the photographer framing the subject in the archway. I was on the obverse side and stopped as the wind picked up: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/oops.jpg.html Looking north from the top of the garden toward downtown you can see the big lawn at Zilker Park. IIf you attend SXSW many events occur around the lawn: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/overlooking+Zilker+park.jpg.html When the temperature isn't brutal you can enjoy the view from the provided chairs: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/upper+lawn+of+the+garden.jpg.html Austin is enjoying an influx of new highly skilled people whether it is the new Apple enlargement, Samsung and it's increased fab capability or the very large campus for Tesla. It seems that the newcomers are fairly positive about the future: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/The+real+Austin+demographic.jpg.html All the best. -- Don don.dory at gmail.com
