One of the fun things about Austin is that there are still a high number of quirky shops distributed around the city. The first one is on the east side: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Austin+Signs/all+you+need+is+lashes.jpg.html One of the poor things about Austin is that influential developers can gain planning permission for strange out of place developments. There is a block of lots bordering a middle school and residential neighborhood that a developer has gained permission to build a mid to high rise mixed use development. This group paid substantially over market to acquire the lots(one of my friends who owned a business was asked to name a price which he named higher than his wildest dreams and was granted if he moved out in 30 days): http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Austin+Signs/heres+looking+at+you.jpg.html Same deal different business: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Austin+Signs/Tag+on+wall+soon+to+be+demolished+for+a+highrise.jpg.html All the best. -- Don don.dory at gmail.com
