Thanks Brian, I live at the top of the Whaligoe Steps 
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whaligoe) which is very inhospitable for 
fishing boats!

Eerily familiar.
I've been to Wick a few times, but I lost the negatives (from my IIIf) 
years ago.
My mother's people emigrated to the USA from Wick. They had spent one 
long generation in Wick trying to be fishermen after the Highland 
Clearances, but felt the need to leave.
