Subject: [Leica] Fiestas de Quito

The second and last set of photos from Quito.

Walking around the old city, we ran smack bang into the annual Fiestas de
Quito festival, which goes on for a week or two, culminating in the first
week of December, and which celebrates the founding of Quito in the 16th
century.

As we were walking around, I took this quick portrait of Neela and myself,
looking at a tableaux of a barbershop - the barber is a mannequin, not real:

Then we were in the thick of things! One colourful group of pretty
senoritas:

A major feature of the celebrations is a beauty contest, the Reina de
Quito, and the winners went by:

These two guys really looked to me  like stereotyped mafioso, but were
actually musicians:

The spectators did their own thing, and watched the parades (with one
homage to Jim Shulman!):

I wonder if that hostel is the Ecuadorian equivalent of a Japanese love
hotel?
