What hastened me into the purchase is various extremely attractive bundle that Nikon India had put together, no doubt to encourage Canon/Sony users to switch to Nikon, at savings up to US$ 1500 over the pieces purchased separately. I acquired a Nikon D850 + 24-120mm f4 + 85mm f1.8 + 200-500 f5.6 at just under US$5000. I have already sold the 24-120mm and the 85mm, leaving me with the Nikon D850 + 200-500mm at 80% of the cost of a D850 body alone. Not a bad deal, indeed. Similar bundles at different prices exist for the latest iteration of the 70-200mm f2.8 and 24-70 f2.8 instead of the 200-500mm f5.6. Here are some photographs from a early morning visit to Marina Beach in Chennai a few days ago, one of the first outings the D850 had. All photographs taken with the Nikon D850 and the Nikkor 70-200mm f4 lens.
