This product does two things
1) It takes in a USB input power and charges a built in battery. ( after
charging the internal gadget battery, Unplug USB cord. )

Plug in SL battery

2) It charges your external battery (presumably the SL battery is the right
voltage, see specs and check your battery for compatibility) from the
gadget's internal battery.....

It is a 2 step process, but it appears to be a possible solution.
It will not be fast. But it just might work.

I would still pursue the alligator clip and 12v battery solution... low
tech, and USUALLY a 12v battery will be available. But you NEED. A 12v
input port to your standard SL power charger... i read the SL instructions
and did not see a reference to one... ?????
