Kathy's dogwood has a history.  It was the first thing we planted when we
bought our home in 1991. Our Lab puppy chewed it almost to death a couple
years later. (Dogwood, get it?)  Then a tree branch fell and smashed it.
It lives on outside our bedroom window, a harbinger to real Spring.
