I feel fortunate that I lived through an era with so many choices in films and developers. I learned inspection development so I didn't have to rely on processing charts - I could use my own film/chem combinations and process until the negatives looked right under the green light. And my early tasks at my job helped my techniques. I used to process 20 rolls of B&W reversal film at a time (two rolls back to back on each reel) in one gallon glass tanks that took ten reels on a spindle, lifting the whole bunch from tank to tank in total darkness for 35 min. -- Alan Alan Magayne-Roshak, Senior Photographer University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Photo Services (Retired) UPAA Photographer of the Year 1978 UPAA Master of the Profession 2014 amr3 at uwm.edu http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Alan+Magayne-Roshak/ "All the technique in the world doesn't compensate for an inability to notice.
