Just search on the auction site, choice of 720nm, 760nm, 850nm or 950nm
cut-off for less than 10USD inc shipping.... Won't be as good optically as
B&W or Heliopan, but not an everyday filter.

I?ve seen numerous images recently on the forum done with the M8 and an IR
filter, but the search function in the archives is down at the moment, so
I?d like to ask two things:

1. What filter is recommended? The B+W 093 appears to result in good images
from what I?ve seen online, but its specifications seem to indicate that it
admits only wavelengths longer than where the M8?s filter starts to be
really effective. OTOH, the 092 filter appears to pass a good deal of
visible red, not what I?m after.

2. My Elmarit-M 24/2.8 takes E55 filters. B&H lists nothing in E55 except a
few Leica UVA/IR blocking filters, obviously the opposite of what I?m after.
Will this lens take standard 55mm filters? For some reason, the answer to
this seemingly simple question has been astoundingly difficult to find by
googling.

Thanks for any advice,
?howard
