The Baie de Somme is a specific place as the combined effect of the tide and
river flow attract thousands of birds (gulls, geese, ducks, etc) and forms a
wonderful natal reserve for birding.

The setting

Here's a patient gull (to be named) waiting for the ebb to cover the land so
that dinner may be served without fussing about too much.

Once the tide's in -exceptionally high at this time of the year- they start
surveillance operations

And they go for mice and other small animals trapped by the unusually high

Some are jealous or hungry and dogfighting may ensue.

Bird ID in progress :-)
