First a view from our 10th floor kitchen window this past Friday night.

In the Sovetskaya district the government is razing family houses in a
roughshod version of imminent domain (some say illegally) to make way for
more high rises. The character of this city is being being clawed asunder
with backhoes.

The man in front of this house lives there still while around him the
houses are razed.

When I walk these streets people encourage me to photograph because they
want the destruction documented.
