The Zeiss 25mm VF is larger, more fragile ( IMO), has more contrast than the
Leica, and costs more.  It is available used, at more comparable costs.
The Zeiss 25 uses the outside of the VF window,  Inside is a projected 28mm
window.  Double Duty! 
I prefer the Zeiss....by a far margin.
Most of the external VF cover the area of the lens in question, but not like
a SLR.. Usually the VF covers more territory.  
25 = 24 for all practical purposes.

Note:  In the past, several 24/25mm VF have been made, including an older
Zeiss.  The newest Zeiss are substantially more clear to look through.
