[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]PESO: The next place on our Cuba adventure was Playa Larga (Long Beach) on the Bahia de Cochinos (Bay of Pigs) We had to drive back through Havana but stayed on the super-highway all the way - four lanes, not much traffic, but you did have to watch out for horses, cows, and pedestrians in the middle of the road! It was about 350 km but an easy drive. Tom and I are not "beach" people but Playa Larga is nothing like Myrtle Beach!! There were almost no tourists, no big resort hotels, and very few restaurants. We stayed in a Casa Particular right on the beach. It was about 10 steps from the sliding glass doors of our room to the water. There was also a hammock and a fully-stocked bar right outside the door. We enjoyed our three days in Playa Larga! http://www.pbase.com/image/159470392 C&C greatly appreciated.
