for street stuff, it works fine for me--35 has been my RF choice, though the 
M8 screwed with it--i prefer the 35 on fullframe

usually use tri-elmar in street these days, but like the extra stop with 
summicron--i keep it at 2.8 for a breath of extra focus for faster action 
and keep off the shutter speed ceiling

the two stops extra when i move inside is nice

it is one less thing to think about and using the foot zoom is close enough 
to switching the focal length in speed
