if you've been christened an "important artiste"
then every snapshot, experiment, throw-away, bleach test, post-it note,
shopping list, and melted crayon collection that you have will acquire a bit
monetary and pseudo-aesthetic value.

this seems to be true across all mediums of expression; throughout the
history of all the arts.
