Because if you're including interchangeable lens cameras in your prediction, I'd like to know how you think optical engineers are going to produce something like a pro grade 24-70 f/2.8 and make it any smaller than the Canon 24-70 f/2.8L. Getting the body size down isn't the problem. It's the lenses. And lenses make up the vast bulk of the kit you're carrying around. If you can't get overall system weight down in size and weight, what's the point of a compact body?
