Subject: [Leica] Syria in the 40s

Following on from Jayanand's link to Anzio, I saw another link to Syria in 
the 40s on the Life website. Here it is.

Fascinating, especially considering the current mess there. BTW I'd 
recommend "A Line in the Sand" by James Barr which looks at the Sykes Picot 
agreement which carved up the middle east in straight lines between the 
British and the French and subsequently was the reason for inflaming many of 
the issues there.
