The Lumix GH3 has an absolutely silent "electronic" shutter (timed capture
from the ccd w/o the use of the mechanical shutter at all). It's limited in
its capabilities, but indispensable in certain situations. The Alphas have
on board controlled, mechanical shutters. The Lumix idea is an adaptation
(if I understand it at all) of its movie exposure routines.
