Hi LUGgers,

sorry I haven't been posting much this year. I have a new job in Kyoto, and
I've been hard at work finishing a book on philosophy and poetic thinking
that has taken me years to write. Still got a good slog ahead of me.

My problem: I use Apple Mac Mail. It organizes my work and home e-mails in
one account. My old Yahoo mails are stored in Mac Mail. I deleted my Yahoo
account, and my home account is now with Gmail. However, I have years of
archived Yahoo mail messages I want to keep. Problem: sometimes when I send
from Mac Mail, it is sent as if from Yahoo. That is impossible, as it is a
deleted account.

I don't need an explanation as to how this happens, I have a vague, user's
notion. However, when people reply to those messages written in Mac Mail
and sent as if from Yahoo, they naturally reply to the Yahoo address and
this might make me look sloppy, or worse, rude, seeing as their e-mails
will be bounced back saying 'no account named ... exists'.

Why don't I just delete the Yahoo account settings in my Mac Mail, so that
the inadvertent sending from Yahoo problem disappears for good? Because if
I do that, all those years of archived mails will be automatically deleted
too. I do not wish to resort to Thunderbird, I don't like the feel of it,
compared to Mac Mail. Can anyone please offer a suggestion?

Best regards,

Peter

P.S. If I get an answer that solves my problem, I promise to post some
photos of deer walking sidewalks in Nara, near Kyoto.
