I appreciate the several comments.

On Saturday (7 September), a beautiful sunny day, the bay was filled with
traditional sailboats and yachts whose owners and their guests wanted to see
the day's America's Cup races. The waterfront and beaches were packed with
people.

In May of this year a crew member died as the Swedish team Artemis Racing
practiced in the San Francisco Bay. The AC72 catamaran operated by Artemis
Racing flipped over in 20-knot winds, pinning crew member Andrew Simpson, an
Olympic gold medalist from England, underwater for 10 minutes.

I am neither a sailor nor a sailing enthusiast. Once I almost got seasick
just standing on a floating pier.

Oliver
