My canon adapters were all chipped and that had no effect on the exposure 
problem.  The only thing my chips did was communicate to the camera the lens 
and max aperture so that info was in the EXIF.  Not sure if that is still 
true.  Also, no experience on the Zeiss lenses.

i did read about some issues (exposure) using R lenses with canon, is this
also true if the adapter us chipped? what would the difference when using
zeiss ze lenses. they are manual focus and chipped! are there any issues
using zeiss lenses on canon?
