Thanks, Jay.  As it happens, about an hour after I posted the link I got an
email from a print editor at the NY Times named Norman Mayersohn who told
me the same thing.  He reads the LUG archive and saw my question there.

Mayersohn does the "Wheels" blog for the times and is an editor for the
Automobile Section.
