In my experience there's little to compare.

The DMR as part of the R SYSTEM is a fully functional component within that
well designed system; which includes: bright, clear viewfinder for precise
manual focus; auto diaphragm; precise, accurate metering; use of any and all
R lenses; etc.

Canon + adapter + R lens: Significantly dimmer viewfinder; difficult to
manually focus even wide open; metering issues when stopping down; not all R
lenses will work - at infinity; etc.

a note off the iPad, George
