I finally got around to finishing editing my Kumbh Mela photographs.
The first few photographs document our going out to take the holy bath
at the meeting point of the rivers Ganges and Yamuna, called Sangam
(means confluence in Sanskrit). It was a very auspicious day called
Vasant Panchami, and in spite of very iffy weather, the estimated
numbers of pilgrims who had a dip on that day was supposed to be 7-10
million. A bath during this period at this spot is supposed to wash
off all your earthly sins:

Te next set is from the tented village that is put up for forty days
to house millions, during a brief period of sunshine in an otherwise
wet and soggy trip:

Comments and criticism, as ever, welcome

For what it is worth, as this was a topic of discussion recently on
the LUG, the whole series taken with the Fuji X-Pro 1 and 18-55mm
lens.

Cheers
Jayanand
