Subject: [Leica] Anybody still register camera gear with customs?

In the 80's & 90's I had a US Customs form 4457 "Certificate of 
registration for personal effects taken abroad", which had my Leica and 
large format gear description & serial numbers recorded.
Now I have all new gear, and will be heading for Europe soon.
I was wondering if Luggers (US citizens) traveling overseas still find 
this necessary?
