Dos was written in Assembler, was efficient, but not terribly user friendly.
Windows was written in some higher form of language, inefficient, and very
user friendly.

Obviously, the public wanted friendly....

All true but a IIIF is an object is a thing of beauty. DOS isnt/wasn't.
