Subject: [Leica] Some Bayland shots

Friends drove in from Los Gatos to pay their first visit to my wife after
her heart attack. Then they suggested going down to the Baylands to
photograph birds. Since I was recovering from a condition leading to
shortness of breath, I didn't want to lug my camera bag, so I just put the
90mm in the M9.

No photogenic birds showed up, and here I was with an inappropriate lens. To
make matters worse, being so used to the 35mm lens, I tend to forget about
the 90mm's limited depth of field, so a number of shots just got discarded.
I mean, when the tail feathers of a goose are needle sharp and the beak is
blurred--that's depressing.

Anyway, here's what I rescued.

My friend, Steve,

and with his wife

The Interpretive Center, where some of the wildlife is described

and, finally, a couple of shots at the "golden hour" which is more like a
golden half-hour when the sun sinks behind the mountain.
