Thanks to Gene ( at least that is who made the suggestion), I tried out a
change..

 

First I made a copy of the "book".  Then I made the change... 

Lr4 retained, as far as I can tell, all my images.  However, I lost a
significant amount of the typed in text, plus the cover text ( and spine)
was all gone.

 

It was easy to test.
