The Buard family built the Creole cottage in 1776; it is one of the oldest examples of its type. In the 1960's the home was bought by Tom Wells, a retired naval officer, and he and his family renovated it to reflect the original design. The yard is kept in a "natural state," hence the proliferation of Spider Lilies. http://sonc.com/look/?p=2321 Click the image for a larger view. -- Regards, Sonny http://sonc.com/look/ Natchitoches, Louisiana USA
