indeed unfortunate.

unfortunately the wedges have been a reality for 70 years and were inserted
long ago already.
and the people inserting them have yet to be held accountable.
india since 1947 is a post-wedge country.

benign dreams of an integrated enlightened society are very nice.
it reminds me of many people who felt that way during the Weimar Republic.
and who did nothing to explicitly stop the wedge inserters.

benjamin carter hett's book is a wonderful book about that era......

Whatever the history, it is unfortunate. Nothing is achieved by inserting
wedges between citizens of a country. for religious and ultimately
political ends.
