Indeed, the typical swirly background came out in
http://johnmcmaster.com/PESO/Flowers/flowers2012/content/L1007842_large.html
whereas many others you could not tell what lens was used....

It's such a chameleon . . . I have the v1 f1.0 and it can look amazing or
terrible, depending on the background or foreground, the distance to the
subject, and how the highlights in the OOF are distributed.
Whatever the case, wide open there's always plenty of bokeh...
