i was invited suddenly yesterday to attend an arangetram,
the public debut of a student of bharatanatyam
(india's national classical dance form)
after years of studying under a guru.

the recital celebrated the Mother Goddess and the feminine aspects of God
my friend Hema Balasubramanian is at left and played the flute
