Subject: [Leica] LR4 problem

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions. Tina: I threw away the
preview file and at first thought that it had solved the problem.
Just as I was singing your praises to my wife, the problem returned.

In desperation, I finally determined a point at which LR consistently
didn't crash when I switched between grid and loupe view. My idea
then was to delete from the catalog and the hard disk all negs beyond
that point. When I did that, LR removed them from the catalog and
then crashed before it had deleted more than one DNG from my hard
disk. So, I deleted the DNGs manually. My idea then was to delete
from the SD card all the earlier ones and then import the later ones
from the card back into LR. I was a bit chagrined to discover that I
could not delete files from the card via the computer; I had to put
the card back into the M9 and delete them one at a time--not too time
consuming. After then importing them back into LR, I had no further
problems.

I'll probably post some pictures first thing in the morning--it's
getting onto 1 am.
