And I'm saying that's just never going to be the case. I've seen medium format digital results and its as far away from the results from 24x36 as in the old film days 6x6 film was over 24x36 film. If not more so. A 35mm camera is not in competition with a medium format camera. The only thing a 35mm camera over a medium format camera is handling. Quickness. And in this case of the S2 its not clear that is even there. The S2 seems to have the exact handling of the best DSLR's. In the past no medium format film camera could really handle like an SLR or Leica rangefinder. So if you wanted spontaneity and coverage you'd go to 35mm. 1350 vs. 864 square mm's S2 vs Nikon. If the S system had half assed glass it would still leave behind 24x36. But it doesn't. Its got pie in the sky Leica glass that nikon cant compete with. Its just not willing to have a lens cost that much money. The next camera I get is going to be the D800. But I'm not thinking I'll be getting the output people shooting an S2 is going to get. Not even close. Maybe I'll be able to rent one for a weekend. Maybe I'll do a job even. I think it'll knock the socks of of what I'm getting now. But hope its not hung next to a print from an S2. - - from my iRabs.
