I agree about the little cameras; it matters very little what you use as
long as it's strong enough to hold the camera.? I have 1" domkes on my M's,
the factory strap on the GF1, and a 1/2 leather on the Kneb.?

I think with the larger cameras it depends on what you're doing - I have
tried the neoprenes but when I shoot telephoto I'm frequently bracing into
the strap like a rifle sling - and stretchy straps won't work for that.

Currently my SLRS have 1 1/2" domkes (with quick-releases; I know there are
some who hate those but I've never had a problem with them and it makes it
convenient to clip a body to the shoulder straps on the backpack when I'm
loaded down... so even if I've got all the heavy gear on my back I'm still
ready for the "OMG LookatTHAT!!" UncleTedShot.)

My RB alternates between the original mamiya web (If I'm shooting urban,
where again I frequently brace into the strap) and the Neoprene if I'm out
back of beyond, where I'm pretty much invariably on a tripod so there's no
bracing, I'm walking slowly enough that the bounce isn't an issue, and the
neoprene DOES reduce felt weight.)
