This lens was never cheap.... almost always sold for the over $1K price.
Where else can you get any F1.4 lens that weighs in at something like 165g?
Prices for lenses under $2K have gone up.... to over $2K.

Meanwhile in 2010, I paid almost $2000 for a pre-asph 35 Lux V2.
