This "original" has much more neutral color balance the the first you posted.

It's awfully difficult to determine, from an online .jpg, what the file 
really has in it.

In Lightroom the first things I'd do:
lower the contrast
apply fill
just to try and determine what kind of mid tone, skin tone, and shadow 
detail can be pulled from the file.

Depending on what those moves tells me
I may work with the curve and probably selective color desaturation.

If you care to send a copy of the file
I'd love to take a crack at it.
