Standard anti-SPAM technique (most people will say what the link is to), as
is blocking any mail with pictures only and no text.....

exactly!
When the mail is sent in plain text the links in the first line won't show
... :-( :-( HTML is fine.

But I have access to them from the replies ... better than nothing at all I
guess.

I spent nearly two hours over the weekend and today to try and explain to
the ISP technies that it is not done - they promised to report, and maybe
fix the bug.
