Subject: [Leica] Veterans--delayed reaction

I have enjoyed seeing the posts of Jim's and Tina's fathers next to planes. 
My own father was more earthbound, spending the years 1943-1945 fighting his 
way from Western Russia to Bernau, 30 km from Berlin, where he was the day 
the war ended, 8th May 1945. Here is a portrait of him, taken some time in 
1944 or 1945, still during the war:
