As an amateur, having roughly $15 Grand in cameras hanging from one's
shoulders, sounds like overkill.........

Never mind the lenses......

The news guys here all shoot with D3 and 1D series cameras.  Maybe a
D700 or a 5D for backup, but usually only as a third camera after a pair of
D3s or 1Ds.
