I don't have the proper tech understanding or language
to comment with any authority on this issue.

Though my practical experience suggests that
on most digital camera/sensor/systems
Subjects with intense reds (including magenta and yellow)
tend toward over saturation
and require dialing them down
in post processing.

This digital reality, in my opinion,
accounts for some of the difficulty in
achieving "natural" skin hues.
The reds in the skin tend to over saturate;
while other subtle hues (blues, etc.)
render properly.
